IN-KIND DONATIONS

Community Shelter Services welcomes gifts of gently used or new clothing, furniture, linens, laundry and cleaning supplies, personal care items as well as non-perishable food.

The drop-off location for these items is the vendor entrance to our Emergency Shelter at 655 West 16th Street, Erie, PA 16502.  Calling ahead is appreciated. 

For larger furniture donations, CSS staff may be able to arrange a pick-up. To request a pick-up, please complete this form. Your submission will be sent to our team, and we’ll follow up to discuss your donation and confirm pick-up details if we are able to accept it.

  • Large industrial size garbage cans on wheels
  • New toys
  • Towels
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Cleaning supplies
  • EMTA bus tickets
  • Paper products (paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex)
  • to-go containers (tupperware or styrofoam)
  • Laundry soap
  • Storage sheds
  • Freezers and refrigerators 
  • Smaller furniture items (love seats and smaller chairs)
  • 14 to 16 inch (industrial) cooking pots and pans
  • Winter apparel for men, women, and children
  • Twin-size bed sheets
  • Cans of ground coffee
  • Powdered coffee creamer
  • Packaged undergarments
  • Diapers and baby wipes 

Items we can’t accept:

  • Couches larger than two-seaters and overstuffed love seats
  • Heavy recliners
  • Sleeper sofas
  • Open and partially used toiletries and cleaners
  • Any mattresses
  • Glass top tables
  • Older box TVs
